Debuting this week is the lightest football boot ever produced: adidas‘s 4.7 oz adizero F50 Crazylight. About 20% lighter than the previous adizero F50, the new adizero F50 Crazylight features an innovative next-generation lightweight skin to drastically reduce the upper’s weight while still guaranteeing high-quality performance. Joining the new upper is a rearranged SPEEDTRAXION stud configuration on the SPRINTFRAME outsole, which sports a premium anodized coating and laser-etched pattern. Finally, a sleek black and green arrow-like motif showcases the perception of the boot moving forward on the pitch as bright orange accents further set the boots apart from their competitors. Look for Real Madrid midfielder Gareth Bale to debut the cleats this Tuesday, March 18 in the second leg of Los Blancos' UEFA Champions League matchup with FC Schalke 04. The adidas adizero F50 Crazylight is due to be available April 1 at adidas performance stores.
The three stripes are constantly pushing boundaries and this adizero Crazylight looks to be the next exciting project to come out of the adidas Innovation Lab. We'll bring you more details of the Crazylight technology as and when we receive it but for time being the speculation will continue.
The design of Bale's adidas F50 Crazylight takes on a bolder vibe than the current editions. A bright yellow upper hosts black patterned chevrons which move along the side of the boot and towards the toe. At this stage nothing has been confirmed by adidas but as the name suggests, the adidas Crazylight will most obviously be lighter than the existing model.
We expect the boots to be given a limited run, meaning they're likely to come with a higher price tag. No dates have been given by adidas, but with the boots now in the public eye, it won't be long before we hear more from adidas about their latest innovation.
